Guarino signs contract to play for Füssen Royal Bavarians

by Ashton Confer

Cam Guarino, formerly of the High Point Hushpuppies, has signed a contract to play professionally for the Füssen Royal Bavarians in Füssen, Germany. He will pitch and play for the team and in his off time he will serve as a coach in various capacities.  The Royal Bavarians are in the German Bundesliga 2 Southeast League. The Royal Bavarians’ home location is King's Field, which is featured in Major League Baseball's video about baseball in Europe. It is noted to be one of the most beautiful places to play in the world.

Guarino said, "I am incredibly grateful and honored for this opportunity to continue my baseball career and to help strengthen the program in Füssen. Baseball Jobs Overseas coordinates and helps match players to teams around the world and did an outstanding job helping me get visibility to play at the next level."

Guarino pitched for the High Point Hushpuppies in the Old North State League in the summer of 2022 with 37IP 4BB 50 SO, and a 2.19 ERA.

Guarino said, "I wouldn't have been able to play for the Hoyas without having such an incredible opportunity to play in the Old North State League. Without Coach Rob Shore and my teammates on the Hushpuppies supporting me through my transfer portal process in that 2022 summer, I wouldn't be where I am now. The ONSL is a place that gave me a place to develop and hone my skills while being surrounded by a team culture that wanted to win and was brotherhood on and off the field. Coach Shore and Coach Lambeth played a major role in cultivating the team culture that led to such success by our guys."

Cam played college baseball for Georgetown University Hoyas and the New Haven Chargers.  He has masters degrees in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University and Environmental Science from New Haven.
