RAMSEUR, NORTH CAROLINA -- The Old North State League (ONSL) announces the sale of one of its teams.

Albert Anderson and the Anderson Sports Group have acquired the Sanford Spinners of the ONSL. Anderson, a retired police officer and firefighter, is the owner of a Philadelphia based full-service photography and video production company. With multiple decades of experience as a first responder, Anderson is looking forward to taking on his next challenge. “As I sit here reflecting on my journey, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of joy and accomplishment. Becoming the team owner of the Sanford Spinners Baseball Club has been a dream come true, and I cannot wait to embark on this exciting new chapter.”

The Sanford Spinners entered the Old North State League in the year of 2021. The Spinners found great success in the 2022 season as they swept their division and were named Eastern Division Champions. They followed that up in 2023 with another successful season going 20-13 though losing in the first round of the playoffs.

Anderson wants to continue on the team’s success while also improving the gameday fan experience. “My vision is to create an unforgettable experience for our fans. We want to take the traditional baseball game and elevate it to new heights, starting with an enhanced food and beverage offering. Drawing inspiration from the rich culinary heritage of South Philadelphia and the vibrant flavors of Carolina cuisine, we will provide a truly family friendly dining experience for our guests. But it's not just about the food. We also want to cultivate a relaxing atmosphere where fans can unwind, enjoy the game, and create lasting memories with their loved ones.”

Anderson has also expressed his desire to make an impact off of the field as well. “Our involvement in the community goes beyond the ballpark. We believe in giving back and making a positive impact. That's why we're committed to implementing reading programs for local schools, encouraging young minds to explore the world of literature and fostering a love for learning. By actively engaging with our community, we hope to inspire and uplift the next generation.”

Eric Sibrizzi, the Commissioner of the Old North State League, affirmed the league’s approval of the transaction. “The Old North State League is excited for the future of the Sanford Spinners!  We believe the sale of the team to the Anderson Sports Group will show immediate dividends on all aspects of the organization and will continue the positive light and the sense of community the Spinners have brought to the town of Sanford!”

McKinley Stanbery, of Ballred LLC stated, “I am thrilled to make this deal with the Anderson Sports Group. The Spinners have sky high potential, and Anderson will be able to provide a concentrated focus on this team and community.”
