Five Former Old North State League Players Selected in the 2026 MLB Draft

Former Old North State League players continue their baseball careers after being selected in

the 2026 MLB Draft.

The Old North State League saw five former players selected in the 2026 MLB Draft,

highlighting the league's continued role in developing talent. Ty Brachbill, Macon Winslow,

Jackson Nash, Logan Reddmann and Jacob Sammis all heard their names called last weekend

after standout amateur careers. Their selections continue a strong tradition of ONSL players

advancing into affiliated baseball.

Leading the group was Logan Reddemann, who became the first former ONSL player selected in

the 2026 MLB Draft after the Colorado Rockies chose the left-handed pitcher with the 38th

overall pick in the second round. The former Sanford Spinner had a standout collegiate career at

UCLA and the University of San Diego, recording more than 200 strikeouts in 191 innings

pitched. This past spring, he earned NCBWA Second Team All-America honors,

ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-America recognition and First Team All-Big Ten honors.

During his two seasons at San Diego, Reddemann was an All-West Coast Conference First Team

selection in both 2024 and 2025 while also being named the WCC Freshman of the Year in 2024.

The next former ONSL player selected was Macon Winslow, who was taken by the Philadelphia

Phillies in the sixth round with the 190th overall pick. The Hertford, North Carolina, native

played down the road from his hometown with the Edenton Steamers before being drafted out of

the University of North Carolina. Winslow started 67 of UNC's 69 games this spring, batting

.282 with 10 home runs. He was a Buster Posey Award semifinalist and a Third Team All-ACC

selection.

Jacob Sammis was the next former ONSL player selected, as the Los Angeles Angels drafted the

right-handed pitcher in the 12th round with the 349th overall pick out of Glynn Academy in

Brunswick, Georgia. Sammis is currently competing for the Hendersonville Honeycrisps. He was

the Region 1-5A Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons and is committed to Western

Carolina University.

Former Pineville Porcupine Jackson Nash was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 12th round

with the 373rd overall pick. The hard-throwing right-hander out of Longwood University struck

out 59 batters in just 44 innings while posting a 4.26 ERA this spring. Nash also impressed in the

MLB Draft League this summer, allowing just one earned run over 14 innings. Earlier this season, he was named to the National Pitcher of the Year Watch List and earned Big South

Pitcher of the Week honors in February.

The fifth and final ONSL player selected was Ty Brachbill, who was drafted by the San Diego

Padres in the 14th round with the 425th overall pick. The former Lexington Flying Pig capped

his collegiate career by earning 2026 Big South Pitcher of the Year honors after posting a 3.59

ERA across 90 innings at High Point University this spring. Brachbill previously pitched at

Northern Illinois before transferring to High Point.

"The draft is something that I've dreamt of my whole life," Brachbill said.

The five selections continue the Old North State League's tradition of developing collegiate

players for the next level. Each player competed against some of the nation's top summer talent

before hearing his name called in the MLB Draft, further demonstrating the league's role in

preparing athletes for professional baseball.
