Clayton Clovers Join The ONSL

(Ramseur, NC) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Old North State Baseball League (ONSL), a rapidly growing wooden bat, short season, college level league with multiple teams across North Carolina, announces the addition of a new team located in Clayton, NC. The Clayton Clovers currently play at East Clayton Community Park located at 1774 Glen Laurel Road. The Old North State League is the fastest growing collegiate level league in the Eastern United States with more teams to be announced before the 2023 season that runs through June and July.

The Clayton Clovers’ inaugural season began in May of 2022. The team, founded by Louis DeCarolis and Caleb Sharp, is a Wood Bat Collegiate Team competing in the Carolina Collegiate League. East Clayton Community Park is their home and it has undergone renovations to accommodate the new team. While serving as home to the Clovers, the park has undergone major renovations. These improvements will benefit all the citizens of Clayton and make East Clayton Community Park the premiere location in Johnston County for soccer, football, lacrosse, rugby, and baseball. Upgrades include two lighted artificial turf fields, expanded parking, and accessibility improvements.

“The Clayton Clovers and the Clayton community are thrilled to join the largest collegiate summer league on the East Coast. The variety the Old North State League (ONSL) provides is incredible and we can’t wait to compete with the other organizations. We take a great deal of pride in calling Clayton, North Carolina our home and are now also tremendously prideful to be joining an amazing brand in the ONSL. Coming off a Carolina Collegiate League Championship in year 1, we can’t wait to grow with the ONSL in 2023 and beyond!”  stated Louis DeCarolis, Clovers owner and President.

"We are extremely excited to welcome the Clayton Clovers to the Old North State League. The Clovers are coming off a league championship in a different league, and had a very talented group in 2022. We have no doubt that their success will continue. Louis, Caleb and their whole team have built this team very similarly to how all of our current teams are built so it is a great fit." commented Alec Allred, CEO of The Old North State League.
