7/7 - 7/13 ONSL Weekly Player Awards

On Monday, the Old North State League announced the player and pitcher of the week for the week of July 7th through July 13th.

Player of the Week - Henry Ferguson (Hendersonville Honeycrisps/East Tennessee State University)

Ferguson batted .483 on the week with 14 hits as he lead the Honeycrisps to another successful week which has seen the ball club remain on top of the Mountain division. The infielder had four extra base hits as well as five times in which he was able to touch them all. On the season, Ferguson is batting .383 with over 105 plate appearances. He leads the Honeycrisps in RBIs and OPS with a 1.252. 


Pitcher of the Week - Jarred Lindholm (Sanford Spinners/UNC Pembroke)

Lindholm pitched twice during the week, throwing seven shutout innings for the Piedmont Division ball club. He allowed only three hits in those seven innings, punching out 15 batters. The right-handed pitcher hails from Division I UNC Pembroke and has had a solid season for the Spinners. On the season, Lindholm has pitched 18.2 innings, allowing eight runs for a 3.0 ERA. He will look to continue his solid performances on the bump into the playoffs.

The Old North State League heads into the final week of regular-season play as teams continue to scratch and claw for playoff position and the opportunity to host the divisional round.
