ONSL To Join The Players League, Hires Eric Sibrizzi

For Immediate Release: Ramseur, NC: March 16, 2023: The Old North State League (ONSL) announces that they are becoming the first Official Partner League of The Players League. The Players League based out of St. Petersburg, Florida is a new take on the structure of baseball in America. Derived from the 1890's professional baseball league, owned by the players, the new TPL aims to accomplish the goals set out by those players over 100 years ago.

TPL's objective is to establish unity amongst leagues to help drive innovation, keep players healthy, develop athletes, and help baseball teams scale as large sports entertainment businesses.

The Players League plans to accomplish this vision through strategic partnerships with sports and entertainment industry leaders around the country. Through our combined efforts, we hope to change the way players are valued and treated in the game.

The Players League acquired the Old North State League in early March, and the ONSL is the first of several leagues to be announced in the coming weeks.

Catalyzing this process,  Alec Allred, now former President of the Old North State League was tabbed as the new Chief Executive Officer of The Players League. Reggie Allred, former Chief Financial Officer of the ONSL, will be joining Alec on the TPL Board of Directors as the organization's Chief Operating Officer.

The Old North State League has hired Eric Sibrizzi to become the Commissioner of the League following Alec Allred's upward move. Sibrizzi is an assistant coach at Methodist University, after stops at William Peace University and Wake Technical Community College as a Head Coach. Sibrizzi made a mark in his own baseball career, as he was a standout performer at Averett University, and inducted into the University's Hall of Fame in 2022.

Sibrizzi had this to say about becoming the new Commissioner of the ONSL, "It is such an honor to have been selected as the Commissioner of the ONSL. Over the last several years, I have seen firsthand how much the league has developed. I am eager to help continue the process of growing and maturing this player focused league. The partnership with The Players League will allow the ONSL to work with other leagues and baseball entities around the country to better our product on the field and in the bleachers!"

As the Old North State League enters this exciting time under a new Commissioner and as a Partner League of the TPL, former President of the ONSL and Now CEO of The TPL, Alec Allred had this to say: "I am incredibly blessed to be apart of this new national organization, and have no doubt that this new partnership will be a great thing for the ONSL and TPL. Sibrizzi is a well respected baseball mind and I know he will do great things for the league as Eric and I will now work hand in hand to build the ONSL and TPL together. The Players League and its umbrella structure will provide Old North State League players, owners, employees, and fans more resources to be more successful than ever. We have some exciting announcements in the coming weeks that will greatly impact everyone across the board!"
